Richard Lindop (1778-1871) was a farmer from Church Coppenhall, in Cheshire. He was born in Haslington and lived at several farms in the area before moving to Maw Green farm in Church Coppenhall.An active Wesleyan Methodist, he is best known for his brief 'Reminiscences' recording life in the Church Coppenhall area in the middle of the nineteenth century. These appeared as The Reminiscences of Richard Lindop in Transactions of the Lancashire and Cheshire Antiquarian Society Vol 55 1941 pp107-130.
